Hunger and waste, a global paradox
Eight hundred million people worldwide do not have access to enough food, while 1.3 billion tons of food every year end up straight in the trash. Now in production, the documentary What are you eating today? (working title), directed by Maite Carpio , takes us on a journey from Italy to Chad to investigate and tell the story of an ever-growing phenomenon: hunger and waste are two sides of the same coin, the two extremes of a global paradox. We are confronted with a breakdown in the food system: what is the impact of food waste in Italy today?

The Church Elsewhere earns 5.62% share
The documentary The Church Elsewhere attracted 1,402,000 viewers for a share of 5.62%. Rebroadcast on Friday, 2 January on RAI 3, in the Great History episode entitled, "The church today: from Medjugorje to the borderlands", The Church Elsewhere, directed by Maite Carpio, is a journey around the world to discover the varieties of Christian devotion, from Uganda to Pakistan to Turkey. The documentary includes an exclusive interview with Father Dall'Oglio made in Syria before his abduction.

Excellent ratings for the documentary Pope Francis. The Jorge Bergoglio Story, directed by Maite Carpio, rebroadcast last December 26 on RAI 3 in Great History. Pope Bergoglio attracted 1,426,000 viewers, for a share of 5.75% .

Italians and the bicycle
Currently in production is the documentary Italians and the Bicycle (working title): 15 years after the death of Gino Bartali, a nostalgic people’s history of Italy told through its undying passion for cycling. The documentary will trace an extended narrative arc, presenting still images on the most significant events in the history of the 'bike': from the debut of the Giro d’Italia, in 1909, to the bicycle as a driving force for the rebirth of Italy after World War II , to the legendary Coppi - Bartali rivalry.
